This research explores the experience, accessibility preferences, and priorities of people with the language disability aphasia in relation to mainstream interactive voice technologies such as Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

Research outcomes include:
- Open-access co-design workshop resources
- A series of videos demonstrating the experience of using Alexa with aphasia.
- A poster reporting a novel voice-interactive aphasia therapy program using the Amazon firestick and a custom-built Alexa application.
This work also extends the representation of co-designers with aphasia outside of London through collaboration with expert colleagues from the University of Dundee to conduct the research workshop series in Scotland.
Investigators: Dr Abi Roper, Professor Katerina Hilari, Professor Stephanie Wilson, Amy Hanschell, Dr Elaine Scougall and Dr Sarah Northcott.
